Win two double passes to Floriade’s Nightfest [GIVEAWAY]

Canberra’s world-class floral extravaganza returns for its 28th year in September, promising yet another colourful program of events inspired by the 2015 theme, Reflection.

This year’s garden beds serve as floral tributes to the 100th anniversary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli, representing iconic symbols of war and peace such as the poppy, the Southern Cross, two-up and the famous slouch hat.

However Reflection is about more than just looking back – it is about celebrating our proud past and our vibrant, exciting present, while embracing a future full of brilliant possibilities.

Visitors to Australia’s biggest celebration of spring can pick up gardening tips from experts in the field, listen to inspiring musical performances, enjoy culinary demonstrations by world-renowned chefs and keep the kids entertained with an exciting line up of entertainment.

As the sun sets on Commonwealth Park, Floriade’s after-dark extravaganza takes visitors on a journey of discovery with spectacular lighting designs, roving performers, bustling night markets and a fantastic line-up of entertainment.

Experience a taste of our city’s national attractions in The Inspiration Hub with interactive activities and exhibitions, while prepare to have your mouth watering in The Tasting Plate as delicious food and wine workshops take centre stage.

Mandylights returns to NightFest this year, creating stunning lighting displays with new and exciting colours and effects. Be prepared to be astounded by an exceptionally creative NightFest experience in 2015.

This event looks so exciting, and I am so pleased to be granted two double passes to give away to my wonderful readers.

Since reflection is the theme this year I’d like to reflect on my hardest yet most rewarding year off life. It started with Hyperemesis Gravadarem (extreme morning sickness for41 weeks). The birth of our baby girl, followed by moving house to save money (in with MIL) then Mastitis, Glandular Fever, Graves Disease diagnosis, thyroidectomy surgery 3 weeks ago, then Mastitis again lastly moved house again last weekend. We r exhausted, broke and in need of a family outing so I nominate my husband Nathanael du Boulay as he has been carer, husband, Dad, breadwinner and support person extraordinaire, without him I’d be in a heap in the corner. He is an arborist and loves trees and gardens, I’d love to take him and our Bub to our first ever night fest. Thanks for reading my entry. X

  3. I have wanted to get to NightFest since moving to Canberra two years ago. Unfortunately we moved at the worst possible time as my husband was unable to find work because of the government job freeze. With 4 kids, there’s just no extra funds going around for us to do things that cost money. Two years later, he’s found out he’s got a job starting in February and it seems a shame that we still have months to wait to celebrate. I’d love to win these so we could do just that! Thanks for hosting such a giveaway. =)
